The Westwood Patriots, fresh off a long break and a tough win over Manistique on tuesday traveled the snowy roads west as the Patriot Boys take on the Iron Mountain Mountaineers in Iron Mountain. Quuick run and gun shooting by both teams started the quarter, with Westwood taking an early lead, but Iron Mountain got a couple more to drop than Westwood to take a 15-11 lead with about 3 minutes left in the quarter. But the Patriots held on tough and closed the gap to finish the 1st down by four 17-13.
The 2nd quarter was even more intense as both teams pressed each other on “D” and good shots by both team kept the game close, with Iron Mountain leading 23-17 with just over 4 minutes to play in the half. But Iron Mountain capitalized on the fast break, while Westwood stayed consistant at the charity stripe to keep it close as Westwood trailed by seven going into the locker room 35-28.

The Westwood Patriots are back on the air on 103.3 The Country Extreme Friday night as the Westwood Patriot Girls host the Lady Mustangs of Munising. Pre-game is slated for 7:20pm with the tip-off at around 7:45pm, with Joe Duckworth on the Microphone with the play-by-play.
The Westwood Patriot boys are back on the air Wednesday the 12th as they host the Gwinn Model Towners. Joe Duckworth will have the call on 103.3 The Country Extreme. Pre-game approximately 7:20pm with tip-off scheduled for 7:45pm
